It is done. No more Adobe Reader on your system. Check for remnants in the Finder search box. Updated on Apr 30, it works well. It can read PDFs. This is a Big deal on Windows, but on a Mac it's just redundant software. CNET review sounds like an advert from Adobe. I'm wondering if the review was paid for by Adobe.
How can your review fail to compare it to Apple supported Prevew app. ENORMOUS it keeps putting a shortcut on your desktop for no reason once you've installed it seems to spend most of its time complaining that you haven't paid it enough attention or installed another enormous update.
I needed Reader for only 1 site but the thing took over every effort to open any PDF..

No sure who the blame but it is seriously delaying my work. I have the same problem, also with MacBook Pro Retina 13 inch. Also tried a two year old MacBook Air 11 inch, with Adobe reader 9, same problem, but only when used standalone, an not in when used as plugin in Safari!
It's always been like that. Adobe just can't get the display performance right on MBP. They will never reach the performance of Preview. These settings seem to have fixed this problem for me. Well after using the Preview app for 9 months, I hoped I could come back to adobe reader with this issue fixed; however, the app is as terribly slow as ever. I honestly don't know how this issue is still not addressed.
